These rods give fishing on a one day a week basis and offer excellent value for money for people near enough to fish on a regular basis. If you prefer, and we can match you up with another rod, you can take a day for every other week, at half the price quoted. Although these rods are usually restricted to the quieter times of the year, or to the less good beats, they still offer some worthwhile chances of fish, especially if water conditions are favourable, such as after a summer flood. On some of the beats there is also the chance of catching sea trout in the summer evenings. The following beats offer syndicate rods:

Horncliffe should be ideal for syndicate rods, with a chance of a salmon or sea trout in the early part of the year, even in the lowest conditions, due to its proximity to the tidal waters. Two rods are available on the main beat until 23rd July.

Ladykirk should also suit syndicate rods and the four rods to be let on this basis will have plenty of room to fish, with each pair having a beat of their own which will rotate around the entire Ladykirk water from week to week.

Bemersyde & Ravenswood are probably the best of the beats to be offered on this basis. They are capable of catching fish throughout the spring & summer and their delightful setting is a considerable attraction too. A part time gillie is provided on both beats.

Fairnilee & Traquair are beats that offer cheaper syndicate rods but are really only suited to enthusiastic local residents. There are five rods on Fairnilee and three on Traquair. Traquair offers a 50% discount on syndicate rods to anglers resident in the parishes of Traquair and Innerleithen.
