This is a small beat adjacent to what used to be Peel Hospital, and many a doctor used to enjoy catching a fish there, after making
his daily rounds! Now the hospital has transferred to Melrose and the beat is much quieter.
Peel consists of a third of a mile of single bank fishing on the right or south bank. It has two pools, the Stable Pool at the top
and Mitchell's Green at the bottom. You can get your car right to the bank side at the bottom pool, but the path to the top pool is
a bit steep and tortuous in places, so don't book if reasonable agility is not your strong point.
The beat fishes best in high water. There is no hut or gillie; however, the Fairnilee gillie can arrange for someone to show you the
water if requested in advance.
